MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho men's basketball team battled back from down 21 points to make it a two possession game in the closing minutes of the second half, but Weber State ultimately held on to secure a 73-65 win on Thursday night at ICCU Arena.

Trey Smith was a major catalyst in helping the Vandals get back within striking distance, as he knocked down four of his five three-pointers in the final eight minutes to finish with a season-high 17 points. Smith cut the Weber State lead to five (70-65) with 47 seconds to go in the game, but Idaho was unable to knock down another shot as the comeback came up short.
The Vandals had four players score in double digits on the night.
Divant'e Moffitt tallied his 19th game in double-figures with 13 points and a game-high seven assists.
Isaac Jones pitched in 12 points while
Dominique Ford added 10 points.
Idaho was unable to slow down the Bengal scoring attack in the opening 20 minutes, as Weber State shot 63 percent (15-of-24) from the field and 67 percent (6-of-9) from three to help carry a 38-22 halftime lead.
After shooting 33 percent in the first half, Idaho responded in the second with 13-of-25 (52%) shooting from the field, 8-of-16 (50%) from behind the arc and 9-of-9 from the foul line.
The Vandals forced Weber State into 16 turnovers that were capitalized into 11 points. The Wildcats dominated on the glass,out rebounding the Vandals 33-20.
Dillon Jones led in scoring for the Wildcats, as he posted a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
The Vandals fall to 8-14 overall (2-7 BSC) while Weber State moves to 11-10 and 6-2 in conference play.
