MOSCOW, Idaho -Â The Idaho men's basketball team lost 74-58 to Portland State on Saturday afternoon at ICCU Arena.Â
Idaho shot 40 percent (21-of-53) from the field and was led in scoring by
Isaac Jones' 17 points. Jones secured his seventh double-double of the season with 10 rebounds.Â
Divant'e Moffitt and
Yusef Salih each recorded double figures in scoring. Moffitt had 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting while Salih added 12 points with four makes from behind the arc.
The game was close in the first half as Idaho held a 30-27 lead at the break.
Nigel Burris hit a three to put the Vandals up with just over four minutes left in the first period. PSU retook the lead on the following possession before the Vandals gained an advantage for the rest of the half.
With the Vandals trailing 57-51 with just under six minutes to go in the second, Portland State used a 17-7 run to secure the win. The Vikings were firing on all cylinders in the second period, shooting 70 percent (16-of-23) from the field and 86 percent (6-of-7) from three. Â
PSU forced 13 Idaho turnovers and capitalized that into 23 points.Â
The Vandals return to conference action next week, going on the road to face Eastern Washington on Jan. 14 at 3:30 p.m.Â
