MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho volleyball team dropped a home match to Idaho State,16-25, 22-25, 22-25 on Thursday night at Memorial Gym. 

Taryn Vrieling led the way offensively with 13 kills while Taylor Brickey recorded 11 kills to lead Idaho. Lacy Cox and Natalia Wielgus split time at setter, tallying 17 and 11 assists, respectively. 

Idaho State won the first set, 25-16. The Vandals went back and forth with ISU to start with four ties and two lead changes. With the score tied at 5-5, the Bengals gained separation by scoring eight of the next nine points to build a large lead that Idaho couldn't come back from. ISU held the Vandals to hit .031 in the frame. 

Idaho fell in the second set 25-22 to give Idaho State a 2-0 lead. Trailing 5-1 to start, Idaho battled back to tie it at 8-8. From there, neither team led by more than two points until the Vandals went on a 4-0 run to make it 22-19. The Bengals stormed back to score the next six points to win the set. 
 
The Vandals lost the match after falling in the third set, 25-22. Idaho found its offense in the third frame, hitting .324 on 17 kills. Brickey recorded six kills and Vrieling followed with four kills. It was another back-and-forth set, as the Vandals kept the set close with 12 ties. Idaho State finished down the stretch, posting the final three points to secure a match win. 

The Vandals round out its three-match homestand against Weber State on Saturday night at 6 p.m. Fans who attend Idaho's football game against Montana State may gain free admission into the volleyball match by showing their football ticket stub at the door.
