FARMINGTON, Utah – Johannes Hounsgaard finished 10-under 206, including a third-round six-under 66, the best of his Division I career, to earn a seventh-place finish at the Monterrey International Invitational. For his efforts, he was named the Big Sky Golfer of the Week.
 
Hounsgaard closed the first round with an even-par 72, but went to work over the next two rounds, finishing four-under 68 in the second round before closing with the 66, which included seven birdies.
 
He closed the weekend with 15 total birdies. His performance led Idaho to an eighth-place finish at the tournament at nine-under as a team.
 
The Vandals are in the mid-season break and return to action in February.
