MOSCOW, Idaho - The Vandals hit the road for a lone matchup at Oregon on Friday at 6 p.m.The game will be broadcast on Oregon Live Stream and will be available via radio broadcast on AM 840 KMAX or GoVandals.com.
ABOUT IDAHO: The Vandals split last week with a win on the road and a loss at home. On Friday night, the Vandals lost in the last seconds to Texas A&M-Commerce, 72-71.
Hope Butera dominated at home, recording her second double-double in the last two home games. Butera tallied career-highs in both points scored (23) and rebounds (16). Four of the 16 rebounds were offensive, which totaled more than the Lions had combined.
Sarah Schmitt and Kennedy Johnson tied for the second-highest scores on the night with 11 points apiece. Schmitt has been an offensive catalyst, dishing out 14 total assists on the week. Johnson was a dual threat on scoring and rebounds. She is second on the team with 47 total and averages 6.7 per game.
ABOUT OREGON: The Ducks are 4-3 on the season and lost both games last weekend. Oregon faced Portland in a 91-60 loss and then #13 Baylor in a 71-51 loss. Both games were on the road.
Oregon's Grace VanSlooten leads the Ducks with 112 points on the season, averaging 16 per game.
Oregon ranks 14th in the nation with 31.4 defensive rebounds per game. The rebound effort is led by Phillipina Kyei who averages 10 rebounds per game and is ranked No. 25 in the nation. Kyei has also recorded 5 double-doubles on the season and ranks No. 6 overall.
SERIES HISTORY: Idaho and Oregon have met eight times in the past and the Ducks have the edge, 6-2. The teams first met in 1977 and last met in 2016. The 2016 meeting ended in a three-point loss for the Vandals (73-70) on Dec. 20th at Oregon. The Ducks were receiving votes at that point in the 16-17 season.
