MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho men's tennis team picked up its second win of the spring season, earning a 6-1 victory over Eastern Washington on Sunday afternoon at the Kibbie Dome.

Idaho (2-2, 1-0 BSC) started the path to victory, taking all three doubles matches. The Vandals opened with a decisive 6-1 win by Taiyo Kurata and Francisco Gay at No. 2. Francisco Bascon and Matteo Masala followed up with a 6-4 win at No. 1 before Mario Duron and Bruno Casino closed out doubles with a 7-5 decision at No. 3. 

Kurata opened singles play with his second win of the season. He posted a 6-2, 6-0 win over EWU's Tyler Dalos. Matteo Masala followed with another 6-2, 6-0 result at No. 3 to put the Vandals up 3-0. Bascon picked up the clincher, 6-0, 6-3 over Steven Paz at the No. 1 position. 

Idaho got two more wins on the day from Gay and Casino. At No. 2, Gay recorded a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win over Caden Kammerer, while Casino won 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 on court four.

The Vandals return to non-conference play next week for two matches in Denver, Colorado. A neutral site contest against Utah State on Feb. 18 starts off the week for Idaho before playing University of Denver on Feb. 19.
