Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Falls at Weber State, 67-53

OGDEN, Idaho – The Idaho men's basketball team fell on the road to Weber State (16-14, 11-6 BSC), 53-67 on Saturday night in the Dee Activity Center.

Junior Isaac Jones had a team high 17 points and seven rebounds. Yusef Salih added nine points on 3-of-6 shooting from three while Nigel Burris pitched in seven points.

Shooting woes plagued the Vandals (10-20, 4-13 BSC) for the third game in a row, as they shot 34 percent (16-of-47) from the field and 63 percent (12-of-19) from the foul line.

Four lead changes and three ties all took place in the opening period, as each team traded baskets to keep the score within a two possession game until three quarters of the way through the first period. Weber knocked down a pair of free throws to make it 26-19 before Divant'e Moffitt answered with a top of the key three to bring it back to a four-point game. Two more made free throws by the Wildcats and a lay up by John Harge would be the remainder of the scoring for the half as Idaho went into the locker room down 28-24.

Jones led all scorers at the break with seven points in just 11 minutes of action. Idaho outrebounded Weber 20-18 in the first 20 minutes, but was unable to find any kind of offensive rhythm, shooting 32 percent from the field.

Weber State would extend its lead to double digits out of the break, using a 13-2 run to make it 41-26 with just over 14 minutes left to play. The Wildcats didn't left off the gas as they built their largest lead (65-43) of the game at the 2:52 mark and ultimately coasted to a 67-53 win on Senior Day.

Idaho had trouble taking care of the ball, as the Wildcats forced 13 turnovers that they capitalized into 17 points on the offensive end.

For the Wildcats, Dillon Jones posted a game-high 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
