Vandal Women Play at GCU

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho Vandal women's golf and four other Big Sky teams compete Monday and Tuesday at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix.
 
The Vandals are coming off a second-place finish at the Falcon Florida Classic in their first outing of the spring. Kyndall Newman earned Big Sky Player of the Week honors after finishing fourth in Florida.
 
The field includes Idaho, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado and Montana State among Big Sky schools. The field also includes schools from the Big West, CAA, Sun Belt, Summit League, WAC and Mountain West.
 
Delaware and UTEP are the two best teams in the field, ranked 104th and 107th respectively by Golfstat. Idaho comes into the meet ranked 143rd, eighth among the very competitive field.
 
The Vandals tee off at 7 a.m. at the GCU Championship Course, a par-72 course that sits at over 6,100 yards.
 
The teams play two rounds Monday before finishing up with 18 holes on Tuesday.
