The Vandal women's tennis team hits the road again, competing at UNLV and Utah Tech this weekend.
The Vandals (0-2) are set to get underway on Friday at 10 a.m. facing the Rebels of UNLV before finishing out the road trip at Utah Tech on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT.
About Idaho
Idaho holds two losses after visiting Air Force (Feb. 2) and Wyoming (Feb. 4).
Valentina Rodas and
Selin Sepken were the only two Vandals to post wins in singles play at Air Force. Closing out the weekend at Wyoming,
Valentina Rodas and
Selin Sepken earned wins in Laramie.
Sepken opens the season with a 2-0 start in singles play. Her wins at Air Force and Wyoming in the 5 and 6 positions, respectively, make her the only undefeated Vandal.
The Vandals were picked seventh in the 2023 Big Sky Preseason poll. The top six teams in the regular season standings will earn a bid to the Big Sky Championships in Phoenix, AZ for a three-day tournament, April 27-29.
Idaho finished 5-13 overall and 3-5 in Big Sky action during the 2022 spring season. Idaho clinched a berth in the Big Sky Tournament in the regular season finale after defeating Eastern Washington, 4-3. Idaho fell in the first round to Idaho State (4-1).
Scouting UNLV
The Rebels welcome Idaho with a perfect 2-0 start, holding home wins over Weber State (6-1) and Pacific (5-2). Molly Helgesson, Zita Kovacs, and Salsa Aher are all undefeated in singles play at the top 3 positions for the Rebels.
Scouting Utah Tech
Utah Tech sits at 0-4 with two scoreless losses to Utah. Last week, the Trailblazers also dropped matches to Idaho State (0-7) and Utah State (0-7).

Idaho hosts Portland and Lewis-Clark State College next Friday (Feb. 18) and Saturday (Feb. 19) for its first home matches of the 2023 spring season at the Kibbie Dome.
