MOSCOW, Idaho – The Big Sky unanimously named
Beyonce Bea to the first team all-conference. This is Bea's third first team honor and fourth straight all-conference honor.
Bea is ranked No. 1 in the conference in seven different stat lines and is ranked top-10 in the NCAA in five of them. She is the leading scorer with 669 points on the season, shooting 23.1 points per game. Her points rank fifth in the NCAA and the points per game rank sixth. Bea leads in field goals made and attempted at 241-485 (49.7%), the field goals made ranks seventh in the NCAA. Bea also dominates from the line, leading the Big Sky in free throws made and attempted at 172-203 (84.7%), which ranks sixth and seventh in the NCAA. Lastly, Bea is tied with Sacramento State's Isnelle Natabou with 11 double doubles on the season.
Bea has been unstoppable this season, draining 20 or more points in 19 games and double digits in all but one. She leads the team with 247 rebounds, 31 blocks, and 24 steals. Many of her season and career highs were achieved against Big Sky opponents as she recorded a career-high five blocks against Montana at home on December 31st. She tied her career-high of 40 points shooting a career-high 17 field goals made on 30 attempts at Montana this past Monday, February 27th. She brought down a season-high 15 rebounds at Weber State on January 26th. Lastly, she recorded a season-high six assists against Northern Colorado on January 21st.
There's no doubt that Bea earned her spot on first team all-conference as she was one of three athletes unanimously honored. She is the first Vandal to be a four-time selection and the sixth overall in conference history.
