Lorenz Herrmann Breaks Third School Record of the Year, Vandals Shine in the Bay Area

MOSCOW, Idaho – Vandal track and field had a successful weekend at the Stanford Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. The Vandals recorded eight marks that rank in Idaho's all-time top 10 including a school record set by Lorenz Herrmann in the 1500m. The team also set 15 new personal best marks on the track and in the field.

Herrmann broke his year-old record in the 1500m with a time of 3:41.93 at Stanford. His previous record was 3:42.11 set on April 13th, 2022 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Herrmann holds five records in Idaho's all-time history with four in indoor and one in outdoor.

Camryn Crouch had a record weekend, recording personal bests in the 100m and 200m at Stanford. She ran a time of 11.99 in the preliminary round of the 100m, ranking tied for 10th all-time at Idaho. In the 200m, she ran a time of 24.35, ranking seventh all-time. Crouch also has another top-10 time in the 200m from the 2022 season (24.43).

Olivia Martin placed in the top 10 at the Stanford Invitational in the 400m dash with a time of 55.87. Her time ranks fourth in Idaho's history.

In the distance events, Katja Pattis, Nathalia Campos, and Kelsey Swenson recorded personal bests in the 1500m, 5000m, and 10000m. Pattis earned first place in her heat at Stanford in the 1500m with a time of 4:23.86, ranking seventh all-time at Idaho. She also has the 10th-best time from the 2022 season (4:26.45). Swenson ran a time of 33:21.11 in the 10000m at Stanford, the second-fastest time in Idaho history. Swenson also holds the sixth fastest time at 35:00.81 from last season. Campos placed ninth in the 5000m at San Francisco State with a time of 16:49.64 which ranks ninth in school history.

Mia Sylvester rounded out the top 10 marks with a distance of 15.64m in the shot put at Stanford. The distance ranks third in Idaho history and earned her a third-place finish in the Invitational heat.

Deyondre Davis earned the highest finish in the running events this weekend. He placed fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.55.

The Vandals will be back in action on Friday, April 7th at the Whitworth Peace Meet in Spokane.
