SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Idaho women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss on the road to Sacramento State Saturday afternoon at the Sacramento State Tennis Courts.

Saffron Dowse got the Vandals on the board with a singles win at No. 4. She won her first set 7-5 before posting another 7-5 result in set two. 

Sophomore Annabel Davis won her eighth contest in a row and improved to a team-best 12-3 overall in singles action. The Wheathampstead, England native posted a come-from-behind win over Mayya Gorbunova on court one, 1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2.

Sac State began the day with the doubles point, picking up victories at all three spots. 

The Hornets posted wins on courts six and five to start singles play before clinching the match win at No. 2.

The Vandals take a week off before returning to competition for their final two regular season matches. Idaho is set to square off against the Vikings on Friday, April 14 at noon before hosting the Wildcats for Senior Day on Sunday, April 16 at 8 a.m. inside the LCSC Tennis Courts in Lewiston, Idaho.
