Vandal Track and Field Place Third and Eighth at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandals earned a spot on the podium in 11 events on the final day of the Big Sky Outdoor Championships in Greeley, Colo. Tayler LyDay was the sole individual first-place finisher for the Vandals followed by the men's 4x400m relay team.

The Vandal men finished the day in third place with 103.5 points while the women finished in eighth with 64 points.

Field
Tayler LyDay earned her second first-place finish in the triple jump at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships. She flew for a record-setting distance of 12.82m, but due to the wind conditions her mark will not go down in the record books. Annika Jozin placed eighth in the high jump with a height of 1.65m, earning points for the women's team.

Simone Fedel earned points for the men with his first podium finish in the triple jump. The freshman jumped for a distance of 15.13m to earn third place. Landon Peterson competed in the triple jump for the first time in his college career and earned points for the Vandals with a seventh-place finish at 13.38m. Nathyn Maller placed seventh in the javelin throw with a mark of 58.54m. Noah Culbertson picked up a second-place finish in the shot put with a personal best mark of 17.75m.

Track
Katja Pattis earned points for the Vandals in her second running event of the weekend. She placed sixth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:43.57.

As the event transitioned to the sprints, the Vandals shined. Deyondre Davis and Jurrian Hering earned points for the men as they finished seventh and third, respectively. Davis finished in seventh with a time of 14.44, just 0.01 off of his personal best. Hering finished in third with a time of 13.92. 

In the 400m, Spencer Barrera and Olivia Martin each earned points for the Vandals. Martin placed sixth with a time of 55.60 while Barrera placed second with a time of 46.59.

Crouch and Jemini Archer finished in the top four in the 100m dash. Crouch placed fourth with a time of 11.57. Archer placed third with a time of 10.48.

The Vandals dominated in the 800m event, as four placed in the top eight. On the women's side, Leah Holmgren earned a point with a time of 2:16.85. On the men's side, Lorenz Herrmann earned second with a time of 1:51.13. Herrmann was followed by Zac Bright in fifth with a time of 1:52.46 and Gage Zanette in seventh with a time of 1:53.52.

Three Vandals earned points for Idaho in the 400m hurdles. Davis earned a second-place finish with a time of 52.04. Prabhasha Wickramaraachchi placed third with a time of 1:01.49 followed by Lara Holzhauer in sixth at 1:03.50.

Jemini Archer earned a second podium finish on the day in the 200m dash. He placed second with a personal best mark of 20.94. The mark also ties for seventh all-time at Idaho.

Kelsey Swenson rounded out the individual running events with a fifth-place finish in the 5,000m. Swenson recorded a time of 17:07.45.

In the 4x100 relays, the women placed sixth with a time of 46.40. The relay team was anchored by Martin and then passed off to Crouch and Holzhauer before Wickramaraachchi brought it home. The men's team placed second with a time of 40.00 run by the squad of Archer, Mika Brouwer, Barrera, and Hering.

The Vandals wrapped up the day with the 4x400 relays. The women placed fifth with a time of 3:48.17. The relay was run in the same order as the 4x100 relay. The men placed first one again with a time of 3:10.88. The relay was run by the same crew with the substitution of Herrmann instead of Brouwer and Davis in place of Hering.
