Suyadinata, McGann Earn Scholar All-American Honors, Vandals Earn Team Award

MOSCOW, Idaho – Matthew McGann and Jose Suryadinata were named Golf Coaches' Association of America All-America Scholars, the association announced recently. As a team, the Vandals earned GCAA Presidents Special Recognition for having a team GPA over 3.5.
 
Idaho is one of just 54 Division I teams, and the only Big Sky team to earn the Presidential Award. The Vandals were the Big Sky men's golf Academic Champion and had the best team GPA of any Vandal team last semester.
 
To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
 
Suryadinata, a three-time All-Big Sky honoree and the 2021 Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year, is a native of Surabaya, Indonesia.
 
McGann, a Spokane, Washington, native, is a Gonzaga Prep graduate. He was named Big Sky Honorable Mention All-Conference in 2023 and finished 11th at the 2023 Big Sky Championship.
 
The Vandals begin practice Sunday ahead of the season opener at the Colorado State Ram Masters on Sept. 6-7.
