MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandal men's golf team puts its tournament win streak on the line Tuesday and Wednesday at the Oregon State Invite at Illahe Hills CC in Salem, Oregon. It is the final tournament of the fall for Idaho.
The tournament is traditionally played at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis but cannot host tournaments this year as the host of a 2026 NCAA Regional.
The Vandals are coming off back-to-back record performances with tournament wins at the Air Force Gene Miranda Invite and the SIUE Dolenc Invite. The field includes several mid-major teams from conferences including the West Coast Conference, Mountain West, Big West and WAC.
Sam Johnson picked up his first collegiate win at the SIUE Dolenc Invite, putting up the lowest individual 54-hole score for an Idaho player since at least 2001. He will play in the No. 1 spot for the Vandals at Oregon State.
Josh McCartain will play in the No. 2 spot. McCartain has had just one round over par this fall and has not finished outside of the top 10 in three tournaments.
Dalton Dean will play in the third spot for the Vandals while
Charley Simpson will play in the No. 4 spot.
Joe Sykes will play in the No. 5 spot for Idaho.
Freshman
Ben Buchanan will play as an individual for the Vandals.
The course will play 6,970 yards at Par 72. The field is set to tee off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on both days. The tournament is scheduled for 36 holes on Tuesday depending on light and weather and 18 on Wednesday.
