FARMINGTON, Utah – Hayden Hatten caught two touchdowns and threw for another as the Vandals rolled to a 42-17 season-opening win on the road at Lamar. For his efforts, he was named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Hatten, the Big Sky Conference Preseason Offensive MVP, lived up to the billing in game one with seven catches for 91 yards and two scores.
He also hit
Nick Romano on a double pass for a 45-yard touchdown early in the second half.
He racked up all the stats without catching a pass in the second half with the Vandals playing mostly second and third team players.
Hatten is one touchdown away from Jerry Hendren's Idaho career receiving touchdown record of 27.
The Vandals are back on the road this week with a game against Nevada at 4 p.m. Saturday.
