MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho Track and Field heads back to The Podium in Spokane, Wash. this weekend for the Inland Northwest Invitational hosted by the Whitworth Pirates on Saturday, January 27th. Both track and field events are set to begin at 9 A.M. PT.
The Vandals recently captured ten gold medals after hosting the 2024 Lauren McCluskey Memorial in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome last weekend.
Senior
Olivia Martin (7.59) and freshman
Jana Willems (7.63) start the day for the Vandals in the women's 60m dash at three and four, respectively.
Martin (39.00) tops the entries for the women's 300m dash. Four other Vandals are also set to compete in the race.
Moving to distance,
Abigail Thomas is slated at third in the women's mile with an entry time of 5:08.66. Thomas finished tenth in the Lauren McCluskey Memorial (5:11.91).
Hannah Russell is set with the top entry time in the women's 800m (2:11.89). Russell looks to climb the ranks after her fifth-place finish last weekend.
Crouch will attempt to score another title in the women's 200m after her first-place 24.70 last week. She enters the Inland Northwest Invitational at No. 2.
Mia Sylvester opens as the No. 1 in the women's weight throw at 17.32m. Sylvester finished second at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial, throwing 16.78m.
For the men,
Weston Jeffries (16.77m) and freshman
Gioele Tengattini (16.51m) check in at two and three in the men's weight throw.
Loudan Hicks (15.82m), also a freshman, is slated at No. 5.
Noah Culbertson enters this weekend at No. 2 for the men's shot put. The junior has been dominant in 2024 with two titles in two meets, tossing 17.45 at the Spokane Sports Showcase and 17.10 at last week's Lauren McCluskey Memorial. Tengattini follows at third, Jeffries at five, and
Reid Thomas sixth.
Junior
Justyn Rogers will compete for the first time in the 2024 season in the men's long jump. Rogers, of Brisbane, Australia, holds the No. 1 entry mark of 7.68m which is 0.13m farther than the current Big Sky best mark from Weber State's Xakai Harry at 7.55m.
Landon Peterson is seeded third (6.87m) and
Cash Jones is fourth (6.80m).
Tayler LyDay returns to The Podium with the No. 1 mark (12.82m). LyDay finished fifth at the 2024 Spokane Sports Showcase, jumping 11.87m (third in the Big Sky).
Kalani Hardyway (11.60m) and
Amanda Munoz (11.56m) check in at third and fourth, respectively.
Sophomore high jumper
Joe Reiber has finished fourth and sixth in two meets this year. Reiber will aim for a medal at the Inland Northwest Invitational seeded second at 2.03m.
Following this weekend, the Vandals regroup and return to The Podium in Spokane, Wash. for the Riverfront Invitational & Multis, Feb. 1st through the 3rd.
