MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball fell to UC San Diego 80-56 Sunday evening at the ICCU Arena in Moscow.
Tyler Mrus scored a team-high 20 points on 6-7 shooting from the three-point line and
Kolton Mitchell added 12 points.
The Vandals started with a 6-0 lead before the Tritons responded with a 9-0 run. The two teams battled back and forth with the Vandals leading 26-23 with under four minutes to play in the first half. UCSD closed on a 16-7 run to take a 39-31 lead into the half.
The Tritons dominated the second half to pull away for the 24-point win.
Idaho falls to 4-7 on the year while UC San Diego is 7-2 on the year and in the midst of a seven-game win streak.
Idaho has a pair of road games on tap on Dec. 18 at UC Davis and on Dec. 21st at Pacific before opening Big Sky play in the new year.
