BEAUMONT, Texas – The Idaho women's tennis team (2-1) completed a perfect weekend road trip, earning its second win in a row with a 6-1 victory over Lamar. 

Sunday's victory was the second consecutive 6-1 result on the weekend after the Vandals beat Nicholls on Friday. Idaho's match against McNeese State was canceled due to unplayable court conditions on Saturday.

The doubles team of Ida Johansson and Saffron Dowse started off play with a dominant 6-2 win on court two. Rachelle Starreveld and Lena Beckx delivered a 6-4 win at No. 2 to help give the Vandals an early lead. 

Beckx followed up her doubles success with a straight-set victory on court six. She made quick work of her opponent with a 6-1, 6-4 decision.
 
Naomi Schraeder battled against Nouray Metwally in two sets that went to a tiebreak, but ultimately Schraeder came out victorious to improve to 3-0 in singles play. She won 7-6 (7-5) in the first frame before earning another 7-6 (7-3) result in the second to grow the Vandal lead to 3-0. 

Lamar won at the No. 2 position before Selin Sepken clinched the win in a commanding straight-set win over Leah Kuruvilla, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).

Freshmen Diana Khaydarshina and Johansson were tested in their matchups, both battling their way to a three-set win. Khaydarshina surrendered a 6-3 loss in the first before putting together consecutive 6-1, 6-1 wins to upend her opponent on court three. 

After winning the first set 6-1, Johansson fell in the second set, 6-7 (4-7). The match on court five then went to the third set, where Johansson completed the victory with a 6-4 third-set win.
