MOSCOW, Idaho - The Vandals closed their road trip to California at the Stanford Invitational and Mike Fanelli Track Classic on Saturday afternoon.
The women's 4x400m relay team broke a 23-year Vandal record on Saturday at the Stanford Invitational. The previous record was held by Brenda Nipp, Heather Dennis, Cassie Greenlee, and Angela Whyte who ran a 3:43.87 in 2001.Â
Olivia Martin,
Hanna Tait,
Prabhasha Wickramaarachchi, and
Franziska Stoehr ran a 3:41.65 finishing in fourth place and marking the third fastest mark in the Big Sky this year.
Friday's action saw Wickramaarachchi, Martin, Tait, and
Camryn Crouch finish ninth in the women's 4x100m relay with a time of 46.05, the third fastest mark in Idaho history.
Jurrian Hering ran a 14.30 in the men's 110 hurdle prelims on Friday to advance to Saturday's finals. The senior took seventh with another 14.30 mark in the finals.
Senior
Olivia Martin finished 10th in the women's 400m at a 56.11 mark, the fifth fastest time in the conference this year.
In the women's 400m hurdles,
Franziska Stoehr crossed the tape 12th (1:01.71),
Prabhasha Wickramaarachchi 14th (1:02.39), and
Lara Holzhauer 17th (1:03.42).
Deyondre Davis took 14th in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 54.31.
Freshman
Hanna Tait finished seventh in the women's 200m at 24.25, the fourth-best time in the Big Sky this year.
For the men,
Spencer Barrera took 11th, with the Big Sky's sixth fastest time in 2024 at 21.76.
Moving to distance,
Gage Zanette took eighth in section four of the men's 1500 with a time of 3:49.87 and
Lorenz Herrmann finished seventh in section two (3:49.11).
Sophomore
Joe Reiber finished in a tie for first jumping 1.93m in the men's high jump (low pit).
Ellie Grant took eighth in the women's high jump (low pit) at a 1.53m mark.Â
Kicking off Saturday's action, the men's 4x100m relay team of
Jemini Archer,
Jon Watkins,
Spencer Barrera, and
Jurrian Hering took second with a time of 40.80.
Zac Bright ran a personal-best 1:49.50 finishing first in section four of the men's 800m.Â
Grant also achieved a personal record in the women's triple jump at 11.75m in a tie for 12th.
Across the Bay at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in Hayward, freshman
Blossom Omogor took another first-place finish in the women's 400m with a personal-best 56.04.
Jana Willems took third running a 12.93 in the 100m.
Sam Fulbright also finished with a bronze medal in the men's 3000m steeplechase at 9:01.29.
Next week, the Vandals compete locally at the Whitworth Peace Meet in Spokane, Washington on Friday, April 5th.
