BANDON, Ore. – The University of Idaho men's golf team tees off Sunday at the 15th Bandon Dunes Championship, which will be played on the Pacific Dunes Course at the Bandon Dunes Resort on the Oregon coast.
The tournament, hosted by the Vandals, includes some of the best teams in the country, including Pac-12 members Oregon, Oregon State and Utah and other top programs from around the West.
Idaho is the school host for the fifth year while previous host Gonzaga returns to the field for the first time since stepping down from hosting duties after the 2019 tournament.
Sophomores
Sam Johnson and
Joe Sykes lead the Vandals into the tournament at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots respectively.
Dalton Dean and
Jose Suryadinata will golf No. 3 and No. 4 for the Vandals.
Johannes Hounsgaard will compete at No. 5 for Idaho.
TJ Patterson,
Matt McGann and
Tommy Kimmel will all golf as individuals for Idaho in the tournament.
Pacific Dunes, rated as the No. 2 public golf course in the US by Golf Digest, will play at 6,600 yards and Par 71, but weather is expected to have an impact on the weekend. High winds and rain are forecast for early Sunday morning and rain is expected to remain through the tournament.
Teams are scheduled to tee off on the shotgun state at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. A live leaderboard will be available via
