FLAGSTAFF, Arizona - Idaho men's tennis fell to Northern Arizona, 5-2 ending their season Saturday afternoon in Flagstaff.
Idaho's hard-fought battle wasn't enough as the Jacks secured the doubles point and won four singles matches.
NAU took the opening point of the match after winning on courts two and three in doubles play. The doubles team duo of
Francisco Gay and
Taiyo Kurata won their match 7-5 shortly after a 6-2 loss from
Alex Asenov and
Sebastian Medica. Idaho's
Matteo Masala and
Yu-Shun Lai were outlasted in a tiebreaker by the Lumberjack's No. 3 duo.
Mario Duron and Medica earned the only victories for Idaho in singles action. Both Vandals finished in two sets. Duron went 6-1, 6-4, on court four and Medica went 6-2, 6-1 on court five.
