SPARTANBURG, SC – The Idaho volleyball team closed out non-conference play with a pair of losses to West Georgia and USC Upstate this weekend.
West Georgia 3, Idaho 0
Idaho fell in three sets to West Georgia, 18-25, 18-25, 18-25 in the opening match on Friday. The Vandals struggled to get going offensively as the Wolves held them to a .142 attack percentage and 19 errors. It was
Taylor Brickey and
Zuzanna Wieczorek leading the Vandal offense with nine kills each while
Natalia Wielgus tallied 21 assists.
Emma Patterson continued to be effective at the net posting five total blocks.
Madu Fontes and Brickey each recorded 10 digs.
USC Upstate 3, Idaho 0
Idaho lost in straight sets to USC Upstate, 19-25, 16-25, 19-25 in the final match of tournament play.
Emma Patterson supplied a charge on the offense end this time around, with nine kills on a .643 attack percentage.
Ada Isik posted double-digit digs for the fourth time this season with 13.
The Vandals will take the next four days to recuperate for conference play, as they prepare for their home opener against Portland State on Thursday, Sept. 26. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
