MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho volleyball team will begin their second week of non-conference play by heading to Cedar City to compete in the Southern Utah Tournament (Sept. 6-7). Idaho will face UC Riverside and Southern Utah twice as a part of the two-day tournament.
The Vandals begin tournament play with a match-up against UC Riverside on Friday at 9 a.m. PT, followed by a match-up against host Southern Utah at noon PT. Idaho will conclude the weekend with a second match against Southern Utah on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT.

ABOUT IDAHO
Idaho starts their season 0-3 after the Betty Austin Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama this past weekend. The Vandals fell in straight sets to Alabama A&M, Southern Illinois, and Chattanooga. Zuzanna Wieczorek and Madu Fontes led the Vandals, earning All-Tournament team honors. Wieczorek posted 36 kills on a .446 attack percentage while Fontes totaled 18 kills, 10 digs, four service aces and two blocks. Natalia Wielgus recorded 54 assists and Ada Isik held down the back row with 28 digs.
SCOUTING UC RIVERSIDE
The Highlanders have had a slow start to their season with a current record of 0-4 coming off the DC Invitational with losses to George Washington (0-3), Georgetown (1-3), American (1-3), and George Mason (2-3). Sophomore, Trinity Sheridan, recorded her second double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs for her UCR debut against the George Mason Patriots.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN UTAH
Southern Utah kicked off their season, 0-3, at the San Diego Invitational this past weekend. The Thunderbirds took losses from Northern Arizona University (1-3), Gonzaga University (0-3), and UC San Diego (2-3).
UP NEXT
The Vandals travel to Loudonville, New York for the Siena College Tournament next weekend (Sept. 13-14). Idaho will face the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Syracuse and Siena College.
