Vandal Women Fall to Montana State in Conference Opener

BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Idaho Vandal women's basketball team fell to Montana State in their Big Sky opener, 56-59.

Idaho trailed for 35 minutes in the contest, scoring their lowest point total of the year.

Jennifer Aadland led the Vandals in scoring for the second time this season, posting 12 points and 8 rebounds, as Hope Hassmann scored 10 in her ninth double-figure effort  of the 2024-25 campaign.

Idaho was held to only 14 first half points, their lowest scoring opening half of the year, and trailed by eight heading into the locker room. The Vandals struggled to convert from beyond the arc, only shooting 3-14 from three in the first 20 minutes.

UI fell behind by 12 with 2:15 left in the third quarter, but clawed back to close the period, scoring six unanswered. The closing quarter was a tight affair as Idaho closed in, pulling within two with 44 seconds on the clock. A Bobcat free throw made the gap three, as a three by Anja Bukvic missed as time expired.

The Vandals continue their Montana road trip on Saturday at Montana. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. PST and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
