GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado jumped out to an 8-0 lead and controlled the game early, but the Idaho Vandal women responded with a 16-1 run to take control of the game and never trailed again as the Vandals cruised to the 11-point win over the Bears, Thursday evening at the Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley.
The win was the sixth in a row for Idaho who is now 6-1 in Big Sky play and 14-4 overall.
Olivia Nelson led the way with 27 points, two shy of her career high. She also had a career-high eight rebounds and added a pair of assists and two steals.

Rosie Schweizer (10) also scored in double figures to help lead the Vandals. The Vandals were 27-64 (42.2%) from the field. Idaho edged UNC 41-38 on the boards and outscored the Bears 44-30 in the paint. Idaho forced UNC into 19 turnovers, scoring 22 points off turnovers.
Idaho led by as much as 14 early in the second half, but it was a back and forth battle for the remainder of the game.
Idaho is now 14-4 on the year and 6-1 in Big Sky play. Idaho faces Northern Arizona Saturday in a battle of the two teams who are tied for second place in the Big Sky.
The game is scheduled for 11 a.m. pacific time.
