MOSCOW, Idaho — The Vandals head to Hillsboro, Oregon, for their last road match of regular season play, facing Portland State on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. PT.
ABOUT IDAHO
The Vandals have moved to third place in the Big Sky following their recent 3-2 victory over Eastern Washington. Holding a 5-4-6 overall record and a 2-1-2 record in Big Sky play, the Vandals look to continue advancing in the final three matches of the regular season.
Midfielder
Sara Rodgers led the Vandals to triumph over the Eagles, posting both a goal of her own and an assist for the game-winning goal finished by
Karli Yoshida-Williams in the final ten minutes of the match. Idaho's back line saw its fair share of action against Eastern Washington, holding strong in the final minutes and posting a total of eight saves.
PORTLAND STATE
Before Sunday's match, the Vikings hold a 3-7-3 overall record and have gone 2-2-1 in Big Sky action, ranking them fifth among their conference peers. Their most recent match was also against Eastern Washington, where they fell 0-1 on Thursday to the Eagles.
The Vikings are led by Head Coach Maureen Whitney, who is in her second season with the team. She holds a 7-15-8 record across the seasons.
SERIES HISTORY
The Vandals hold a 13-6 record over the Vikings as well as a three-game winning streak, prior to their first matchup of the 2025 season. In their most recent meeting, Idaho took Portland State 2-1 in the tournament. Dating back to 1998, this will be the two squads' 20th encounter.
