FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho's
Hope Hassmann was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week following another big week for the Vandals women's basketball team.
Hassmann recorded one of the best games of her career last Saturday in Idaho's big win against Southern Utah. The talented combo guard led the Vandals in scoring with a game-high of 21 points with five made field goals, two three-pointers, and a flawless 9-9 from the charity stripe.
Her excellence wasn't limited to scoring, though. Hassmann also dished out five dimes and corralled four rebounds in Idaho's 76-72 win over a good Southern Utah squad.
Through the first four games of the season, Hassmann is averaging a career-high 13.3 points per game, as well as 3.5 assists per game and 3.3 rebounds per game. This is the first time in Hassmann's career she has won the conference player of the week award.
Idaho has swept the Big Sky Player of the Week awards this season, as
Kyra Gardner won the season-opening selection. This is the third time since 2019-20 that the Vandals have started a season 3-1.
