MOSCOW, Idaho - Returning to action after a weekend to rest and recover, Idaho Swim and Dive split into groups to host the NW Collegiate Invite in Boise and dive at the USC Trojan Invitational in Los Angeles.
Among seven other teams in the Idaho Central Aquatics Center, the Vandals left no doubt all weekend, riding personal bests, top-three sweeps, and strong performances all around to win the event outright with a total team score of 2,121.5, over 100 points ahead of second place and the only team in the building to cross the 2,000 point plateau.
Among some of the best performances of the contest were
Marie Mason winning the 500 Y Freestyle (4:56.68), followed by
Holly Lenarz (4:59.91), and
Ena Lehmann (5:01.51).
Ginger Kiefer, in a dominant weekend, finished first overall in the 200 Y IM finals with a time of 2:00.87, and
Adelaide McRoberts came in third, clocked at 2:06.52.
Isabelle Borke earned the bronze in the 50 Y Free (23.56).
The Vandal quartet of Kiefer,
Courtney Crawford,
Madelynn Butler, and Borke took home a #2 finish in the 400 Y Medley Relay (3:45.41) and finished third in the 200 rendition (1:44.27). Butler then won the 100 Y Butterfly outright by more than a full second (54.41), and Kiefer followed up with a win by more than five seconds in the 400 Y IM (4:20.46) followed by
Marie Mason (4:25.46).
Borke opened up the second half of the action with a top-two performance in the 200 Y Freestyle (1:50.60), and Crawford followed up with a silver in the 100 Y Breaststroke (1:04.48).
Katy Foley kept the momentum rolling, finishing in second in the 100 Y Back (56.10).
Back in the relays,
Holly Lenarz,
Sydney Heasman, Mason, and Borke won the day in the 800 Y Freestyle Relay with a total time of 7:31.52, nearly seven full seconds ahead of second place before Kiefer returned to the pool for the 200 Y Back and was the only women's swimmer to notch a sub-2 minute time (1:58.62) and
Katy Foley was next in line at 2:01.83.
Madelynn Butler got back in the water just long enough to snag a W in the 100 Y Free (50.64) and Crawford followed that with the gold in the 200 Y Breast (2:18.13). Lenarz finished in first in the 200 Y Fly (2:05.12) and
Avery Keinonen (2:08.32) took home third.
These results and more led Idaho to finish atop the standings by the end of the meet, marking one of the most complete team performances of the year to date just two months into the 25-26 campaign.

Over in Los Angeles, The diving squad competed at the three-day Trojan Diving Invitational hosted by USC.
Amelia Ward finished top-10 in the 1M prelims with a score of 239.30 and finished strong with a 478.80 in the finals.
Maya Salvitti competed strong in the platform, finishing eighth in the prelims (207.80) and finished fifth overall in the finals (445.35).
