SOUTH BEND, Ind. -
In their second ever trip to Notre Dame, the Vandals fell to the Fighting Irish in a tough contest, 65-80.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Idaho went punch-for-punch with the Irish in throughout the first five minutes, but found themselves trailing by eight points at the 10:43 mark. The Vandals bounced back with a 10-2 run to take a two point lead with just under five minutes to play in the first half.

Freshman Jackson Rasmussen scored seven of Idaho's points in this stretch, with the Meridian native posting 14 in the first half. Biko Johnson also had a mega opening 20, scoring 13 points, while going 6-6 from the free throw line and gathering three rebounds.

Notre Dame would respond with a couple baskets of their own to draw the game level at the break.

The Irish jumped out to a seven point lead in the first six minutes of the second half, before back-to-back threes from Trevon Blassingame and Kolton Mitchell pulled Idaho back within one.

Both sides struggled to get shots to fall down the stretch, with the Vandals

This is as close as the Vandals would get, however, as their hot shooting from the first half cooled down the stretch, allowing Notre Dame to go on a 12-1 run in the final six minutes, as Idaho fell 65-80.

UP NEXT
The Vandals will return home on Sunday against Evergreen State. The game is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m. PT, and will air on ESPN+ and the Vandal Radio Network, as well as the Varsity Network app.
