MOSCOW, Idaho – For the first time in two and a half weeks, the Idaho Women's Basketball team (8-4) returns to the friendly confines of ICCU Arena where it will take on the Western Oregon Wolves (7-3) in the final non-conference game of the 2025-26 season. This is the third game in series history, and the first competitive game since 1980-81. The two programs played an exhibition in Idaho's Memorial Gym in 2012-13. 
 
The game will tipoff at 2 p.m. in Moscow and can be seen online on ESPN+ with Trevor Williams and Jamie Council on the call. It can also be heard on the radio with the Voice of the Vandals, Doug Taylor, broadcasting the game.
 
During Arthur Moreira's tenure as head coach, the Vandals are 14-5 at home and they are 4-1 this season in ICCU Arena. After Saturday's contest, Idaho won't play another game until January 3 when it starts Big Sky Conference action at Eastern Washington and won't play another home game until January 15 when the Vandals host Idaho State. 
 
The Vandals are ranked in the top 20 in the nation in every major rebounding category. They're fourth in the nation in total rebounds (48.3 per game), 10th in offensive rebounds per game (17.2), 10th in defensive rebounds per game (31.2), and 18th in rebound margin (11.8). Idaho is also one of the fastest and highest-scoring teams in the entire country, putting up 81.9 points per contest – 24th best in the land. 
 
UI leads the Big Sky Conference in all the aforementioned categories. 
 
Idaho has a pair of student-athletes who rank in the top 15 in scoring in the Big Sky, led by Hope Hassmann, who is putting up a team-leading 13.8 points per game. The Maple Valley, Wash. native is shooting career highs from the floor (42.3%) and from three (37%), while also shooting an elite 87.9% from the charity stripe. 
 
Kyra Gardner is also contributing 12.9 points per game and is coming off her second double-double of the season at Utah State, where she recorded a line of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Her other double-double was at Denver when she scored 16 points and collected a career-high 12 boards. Gardner also ranks fourth in the Big Sky with 2.7 steals per game, and ninth in rebounding, grabbing 6.6 boards per outing. 
 
Western Oregon comes in on a four-game win streak to improve its overall record to 7-3. With a win over Division II No. 16 Alaska-Anchorage, the Wolves recorded their first victory over a ranked opponent since 2015. WOU's Kylani Rookstool was named this week's GNAC Player of the Week, averaging 25.5 points per game and shooting 83.3 percent from outside last week. 

IDAHO NOTES 
  • The Vandals have made 88 three-pointers this season, and have made a three ball in 556 consecutive games.
  • With Arthur Moreira at the helm, Idaho has the first Brazilian head coach in Division I history. The Vandals also have the most Brazilians on roster of any team in Division I with three.
  • Idaho has one of the youngest coaching staffs in Division I, with an average age of 32.
  • UI has scored 80 or more points eight times this year, and is 7-1 in those contests.
