GAME NOTES (PDF)
DENVER, Colorado – Idaho women's basketball (7-2) heads out for its second contest of the 2025 Big Sky-Summit Challenge and will take on the Denver Pioneers (3-5) on the road.
The Vandals, who were ranked 93 in the NET rankings to open the season, are one of the fastest teams in the nation, and one of the best rebounding teams in all of Division I. Idaho is fourth in the nation in rebounds per game (49.1), and 18
th in the country in scoring offense (85 ppg) – both lead the Big Sky.
UI is one of the most balanced offensive teams in the country, with four players who are averaging double digits in scoring (Debora Dos Santos,
Hope Hassmann,
Kyra Gardner, and
Lorena Barbosa). Hassmann and Gardner were the recipients of the first two Big Sky Conference Player of the Week awards this season.
Offensively, the balance has led the Vandal attack to score at least 76 points in every game this season. Idaho has scored 82 or more points in seven of its nine games this year.
Denver looks to right the ship after a one-point loss to Eastern Washington to start its Big Sky-Summit challenge. Denver has also played Big Sky foe, Northern Colorado, and beat the Bears by three points earlier this season.
The Pioneer attack is opposite Idaho's in the sense that they like to slow things down. In its first eight games of the year, Denver's scoring has ranged from 50 points to 67 points.
IDAHO NOTES
