MOSCOW, Idaho - On Tuesday, the Big Sky Conference announced that Idaho Basketball's own Isaiah Brickner would be recognized as the league's player of the week for his efforts in the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.
Brickner, a senior guard on the 2025-26 team, had an explosive performance in Idaho's win over North Dakota in ICCU Arena, coming off the bench to go 7-10 (70%) from the floor, 4-5 from three-point range, and a perfect 8-8 from the foul line for a career-high 26 points in just 18 minutes of action. He continued this production on Saturday, putting up 11 to secure the road win over South Dakota State in Brookings. This 2-0 effort from Idaho helped secure the first-ever win for the Big Sky Conference in the history of the series with the Summit League.
This is the first weekly honor for Brickner in his Idaho career, but not the first award the San Diego native has seen in his college days. Playing the first two years of his career at Marist College, he was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in the 2022-23 season and secured a conference All-Tournament team for his efforts in postseason play as well.
This is the first weekly award for Idaho since Kolton Mitchell secured Co-Player of the Week honors last season for putting up 29 PPG and 4.5 STL in that share of the non-conference slate. The last Vandal to secure a standalone POTW award was Divant'e Moffitt in January 2023.
