SPOKANE, Wash. –
Blossom Omogor continued to move her name up in the record books, as
Jesuye Doherty set another personal record and the Big Sky best in the long jump this weekend at the Riverfront Invitational in Spokane.
On Friday, Omogor sprinted to a personal best 24.29 in the 200, both the third fastest time in Idaho history and in the Big Sky this season. She followed it up on Saturday with a 7.57 in the 60 meter dash, the fourth fastest time in UI history and the seventh best in the conference in 2025.
Doherty bested his conference best long jump on Friday, posting a 7.60 meter jump. The freshman now leads the Big Sky by nearly four tenths of a meter and checks in at 36th nationally.
Cash Jones also found success in the 60 meter sprint, as the junior from Romona, California raced to a 6.89, a personal best and the 11th best in the conference.
After being a part of the record setting distance medley relay team a week ago,
Franziska Stoehr nearly etched her name into the record books again, completing her 600 meters in 1:34.51, just short of the 1:33.90 school record set in 1982.
Senior
Annika Jozin leaped to a personal best 1.73 meters on her first attempt at the high jump. The jump places Jozin in a tie for fourth in the school record books and the conference this season.
To close out the weekend, the women's 4x400 relay team of Omogor, Stoehr,
Maiya Brunoro, and
Alyssa Marsh crossed the line in 3:44.75, the sixth fastest time in Vandal history. The mark is also the third fastest by a Big Sky team this season.
"Today was another step forward for the teams as we inch closer to the end of indoor," Idaho Director of Track and Field Tracy Hellman said Saturday night, "We will now focus on next week as we embark on some solid race opportunities for our athletes."
The Vandals will be split between three meets next weekend; the Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington, the Whitworth Indoor Invitational in Spokane, Washington, and the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
