BOISE, Idaho – The no. 3 seed Idaho Vandals Women's Basketball team (18-11, 10-8) opens its Big Sky Conference tournament in the second round against the
no. 6 seed Montana Grizzlies (12-17, 8-10).

The game tips off at 1:30 p.m. pacific time and can be seen on ESPN+ with Tracy Warren on play-by-play and Krista Redpath as the color commentator. It can also be heard on the Vandal Athletic Network with Doug Taylor on the call. This is the 66th overall meeting between Idaho and Montana, the Vandals reigned victorious in both meetings this season, including a 70-57 win in the most recent contest on Jan. 20.

The Vandals are led by head coach Arthur Moreira who is the first Brazilian head coach in division one history. In Idaho's dominant win against Weber State on
Saturday, Moreira broke legendary head coach Tara Vanderveer's record for most wins in a season by a first-year head coach in Idaho history with 18.

Idaho is led offensively by the unanimous Big Sky Conference Newcomer of the year and unanimous First Team All-Conference selection, Olivia Nelson. The senior guard leads the team in scoring and ranks fourth in the conference with 16.4 points per game in conference play. This season the electric guard has scored a conference-high 31 points (against Northern Colorado) and also scored 30 points (on a conference-high 14 made field goals) against Weber State in Ogden. Nelson currently sits at 1,988 career points.

Nelson's backcourt partner, Hope Hassmann, also received conference accolades and was awarded Honorable Mention All-Conference. Hassmann is second on the team in scoring this season with 12.1 points per game – ninth best in the conference - and led the Vandals in assists with over three per outing.

Montana is led offensively by Mack Konig who was named to the Second Team All-Conference. Konig is averaging a team-leading 10.6 points per game. Dani Bartsch was also named Honorable Mention All-Conference after averaging 7.9 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game. The Lady Griz are led by Interim Head Coach Nate Harris who took over in January following a coaching change.

The winner of the Idaho-Montana game will advance to the conference semifinals where they will play the winner of Sunday's game between no. 2 Northern Arizona and no. 8 Sacramento State. The semifinal will take place on Tuesday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. pacific time and can be seen on ESPN+.
