MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandal men's golf team plays for the Big West title Sunday through Tuesday at the La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta, Calif.
The Vandals play in their first Big West golf championship since leaving the conference as full members after the 2004-05 season.
Idaho brings reigning Big Sky Individual champion
Joe Sykes.
Dalton Dean will play in the No. 1 spot for the Vandals while senior
Matt McGann will play at No. 2 in his final conference championship.
Sam Johnson is coming off a runner-up finish at the Battle of Idaho will play from the No. 3 spot.
Josh McCartain is playing from the fourth spot while Sykes is the Vandals' fifth golfer.
The Vandals begin teeing off at 11:40 a.m.

The Course
La Quinta Country Club is no stranger to championship golf, hosting PGA Tour events for decades. Players will need to navigate generous fairways but stay sharp on approach shots, with fast, undulating greens ready to punish any mistakes. Winds can become a factor, adding another layer of difficulty as the leaderboard begins to tighten. The course will play at Par-72 with a distance of 7,060 yards.
Looking Ahead
The Big West's team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals at six sites around the country from May 12-14, while standout individual performers could also secure at-large selections.
