JOHNS CREEK, Georgia – Laura Caamaño finished fourth and
Emma Kang was ninth as the Vandal women also finished ninth at the Georgia State Invitational at Rivermont Golf Club in Georgia.
Caamaño, playing as and individual, put up the best performance of her young career, finishing fourth in the competitive field finishing three-over on the weekend. Her efforts were highlighted by an even-par first round, but she was consistent throughout, finishing two-over in round two and one-over in the final round.
Kang struggled in round one, but rallied, going two under (70) in the second round before finishing at two over in the final round.
Emma Heyman was 14-over to finish 28th overall.
Zoe Newell was 16-over to finish 35th.
Jenna Bruggeman was 20-over to finish 47th and
Kaylin Johnson was 25-over to finish 65th.
The performance was Caamaño's first-career top five finish, her previous best was 18th at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate.

The Vandals have one tournament remaining on the schedule for the regular season, starting Monday, April 7 at the Bobcat Desert Classic in Goodyear, Arizona, before heading to the Big Sky Conference Championship at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
