MOSCOW, Idaho—The University of Idaho Vandal Football program has earned the No.10 national ranking in the 2025 HERO Sports Preseason Top 25 Media Poll. This is the third consecutive season the Vandals have been ranked in the top 10 in the HERO Sports Preseason Poll.
The poll was formed with ballots from four of the foremost authorities in FCS Football-- Sam Herder from HERO Sports, Kevin Marshall of FCS Nation Radio, Zach McKinnell of The Bluebloods and FCS Football Central, and Jamie Williams of FCS Fans Nation—each submitted their top 25 votes. There were four rankings each given a point total then ordered by total points.
This preseason recognition reflects the Vandals' continued momentum following a strong 2024 campaign, during which the team advanced to the FCS Playoff Quarterfinal for the second consecutive year and recorded its third season with ten or more wins.
The 2025 season promises to be an exciting chapter for Idaho Football under new head coach Thomas Ford as they matchup against top-ranked opponents and traditional rivals.
