MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals Women's Basketball team and Head Coach Arthur Moreira complete the 2025-26 roster with the signing of Sofia Ekh.

A 5'8" guard from Sweden,  Ekh has played the last three seasons for RIG Lulea in her home country. In 22 games last season, Ekh averaged 9.1 points, 2.9 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per contest. Her team went 23-1 and won the league championship this past season. 

In 2024, during the European U18 Championships, Ekh suited up for Sweden in seven games, averaging four points and one rebound per outing.

MOREIRA'S THOUGHTS

I'm really excited to add Sofia to our roster. She plays for one of the best youth programs in Europe. I've had the opportunity to coach two players from Lulea before and they always end up being very tough and smart players. She is a great point guard with strong fundamentals and is extremely competitive. She is also a winner with a strong work ethic which are two non-negotiable qualities we look for in recruits. 
 
With Sofia, the relationship goes way back! I got to meet her family back in 2018 when I was in Lulea recruiting her older sister. They are great people and I'm thrilled they will be part of our Vandal family now.
