MOSCOW, Idaho - With the schedule in place and the season rapidly approaching, Idaho Volleyball has laid the groundwork for the culture they want to encourage in Moscow, and freshman hitter Kiana Greer provides the mindset and the playmaking ability that head coach Romana Redondo Kriskova and staff are looking for.

MEET KIANA
An incoming freshman outside hitter from Torrance, CA, Greer is one of three newcomers to the team from the Golden State. She established a presence in the high school volleyball world as a star libero and hitter for both Torrance HS and Surfside Volleyball Club. In 2021, she earned CIF Div. 5 Player of the Year and accumulated 3 Pioneer League MVP awards across her prep career. 

Greer saved her best high school season for last as she was all over the court for Torrance HS. Playing outside hitter for the Tartars, she accumulated 492 kills, 315 digs, 26 blocks, and 57 aces as a senior. Having made an impact on both offense and defense in her prep career, she will transition to a full-time hitter for the Vandals, sure to provide a spark with her combination of power and technique.

If you ask Kiana about her transition to the college game, Idaho was the place for her from minute one. 

"As soon as I visited Idaho, I was drawn to the open land, slower pace, and just being the opposite of what Southern California is," said Greer on her new home. "Compared to living in a busy city, Idaho has been a great change of scenery for me." 

Since she has been on campus, the freshman has taken notice of what the Vandal coaches and staff are building: a team that she knows is meant for her.

"Being a Vandal has been everything I hoped it would be. This team is full of amazing women, and we want to give our fans a team they can be proud of and support! I'm excited to begin my journey here and become the player and person that represents Idaho proudly."
