Bakersfield, Calif. — Idaho goalkeeper Paula Flores collected three saves to notch her Big Sky Conference-leading fifth shutout of the season as the Vandals battled CSU Bakersfield to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon.
Flores anchored a resilient defensive effort for Idaho (3-3-3), turning aside quality looks from the Roadrunners, including a pair of late second-half saves that preserved the clean sheet. The Vandals back line weathered 11 Bakersfield shots, limiting dangerous chances inside the box.
On the other end, Idaho generated nine shots and earned six corner kicks but couldn't find a breakthrough. Annika Farley and Bella Gissendanner each put attempts on frame, while Georgia Whitehead and Sara Rodgers added pressure from distance.
The shutout was the Vandals' fifth of the season, all backstopped by Flores, who continues to lead the Big Sky in the category.
Idaho returns home to the P1FCU Kibbie Dome on Thursday night to host defending Mountain West champion Boise State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Broncos return to the dome for the first time since 2019.
