MOSCOW, Idaho - After putting up one of the top triple jump numbers in the nation, Idaho's own Shawn Twumasi Ampofo was named the Big Sky Conference Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts in the Lauren McCluskey Memorial. 

Coming off of an indoor conference title in the event, Twumasi Ampofo is no stranger to big marks in the triple. The UK native took home the gold in Flagstaff in last year's Big Sky indoor meet, notching a 15.54m (51') to win the day by nearly two full feet. 

Kicking off his senior campaign right where he left off, Shawn left his former conference-best and personal best mark in the dust with a 15.84m (51'11.75") in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome, first place by a full eleven inches. 

The honor marks Idaho's first weekly award of the indoor season and first men's indoor award in nearly two full calendar years, since Lorenz Herrmann took home the honors in February 2024.

Idaho continues the indoor campaign, traveling back to Spokane for the second time in three weeks to compete at the Inland Northwest Invitational at The Podium, a one-day contest on Jan. 31.
