MOSCOW, Idaho- Idaho Basketball is bound for Greeley and Flagstaff for another big week of Big Sky competition. While they aim to put their best product on the court, the Vandals are also doing their part to raise awareness for something bigger than basketball.

Head coach Alex Pribble and co. are partnering the flagship institution of the Gem State with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for the annual Coaches vs. Cancer (CvC) SuitUp week, where hoops programs across the country collaborate to fundraise for the American Cancer Society, a nonprofit with the simple and strong vision to "end cancer as we know it, for everyone."

The partnership between the NABC and the American Cancer Society dates back to 1993, when former Missouri head coach Norm Stewart, a cancer survivor, orchestrated the union by challenging fans to pledge a dollar amount for every three-pointer made by the Tigers during the season. This pledge gradually grew into a nationwide effort and, since its inception, has raised over $179 million for cancer patients around the country to receive support such as free rides to treatment, lodging for those who have to travel, 24/7 on-call support, research, and more.

While the Vandals will be on the road during the designated SuitUp week (Jan. 26-Feb.1), the coaching staff will be donning patches on their gameday apparel in an effort to raise awareness and funds for a great cause in Greeley and Flagstaff.
