MOSCOW, Idaho - Vandal Cross Country will make its way back to Spokane, Washington this weekend for the Whitworth Frank Knott Classic, marking its third meet of the season. Runners will compete on Saturday, October 3 with the women's 5K kicking off at 10 A.M. PST, followed by the men's 8K at 10:45 A.M. PST
Idaho will face off against many Northwest and Big Sky schools this Saturday, including Eastern Washington, Montana, and Montana State.
The women will have five athletes competing, including seniors Mary Nakamura and Lydia Nance. Nance has primarily been a Track and Field athlete for the Vandals over her collegiate years, but has taken on the distance side with full force after starting her season with a PR nearly a month ago. Micah Redding will also be racing this weekend as the only freshman on the women's side. Malia Chiporous and Sara Casebolt will be representing the juniors.
Standout freshman Miles Lechtenberg will compete for the men once again, continuing his strong debut season with the Vandals. Sophomore Evan Jones is also racing after a breakout meet two weeks ago, securing a personal best 8K time of 24:45.3. Five other runners will represent the Idaho men on Saturday. Freshman Koda VanDahlen and Senior Tyler Graff are both coming off strong races earlier this month as well, ready to keep their momentum going.
