MOSCOW, Idaho - Ā On a Thursday night where all nine Vandals that took the floor scored, Idaho led for over 36 minutes to beat Northern Arizona in the first game of the Vandals' final home weekend, 78-58.Ā

HOW IT HAPPENED
Idaho came out with balance and composure, getting contributions across the lineup in the opening half. Making his first career start, Miles Klapper provided an early spark, settling in quickly and helping the Vandals establish rhythm. After some early back and forth, the Hillsborough, Calif. native sank a catch and shoot three off an Aidan Sevilla dime to wrestle the lead back into UI's favor, which is where it would remain for the rest of the night.Ā
Ā

Isaiah Brickner led the scoring effort in the first half with 10 points, hitting timely shots and attacking the basket with confidence. Jackson Rasmussen added nine points to keep the offense balanced, while Klapper contributed five points and five boards. Meanwhile, the Vandals' disciplined approach allowed them to control key stretches of the half and carry momentum into the locker room, where they led 37-29.

Moscow became Splash City in the second half, as Idaho knocked down six of its 12 attempts from beyond the arc during the frame. This success from three helped the Vandals open the period on a 13-2 run that kept them in control. Rasmussen led the charge during that stretch, scoring eight points alongside a deep, back-breaking tre from Biko Johnson to push Idaho's lead to 11.Ā
Ā
UI continued to combine consistent scoring and strong rebounding to sustain momentum and grow the gap to as much as 22 with a Jack Payne stepback three at the 10-minute mark. The triple was the Gem State homegrown's fourth of the night, tying his career high.Ā
Ā

NAU matched Idaho the rest of the way, outscoring the Vandals by two over the final 10 minutes as the Black and Gold saw out a 78-58 victory to clinch Idaho's first winning season since 2018.Ā Ā
