  • With six made threes vs. the Bears, Idaho has set a new program record for single-season triples. UI set the all time mark at 308 last year and currently sits at 312.

    • Idaho has now made 10 or more triples in 22 of its 30 contests this season.

  • A season-high 2,459 Vandal fans packed the ICCU Arena on Saturday.

  • Saturday marked the ninth game this season where UI grabbed 40 or more rebounds

  • Jackson Rasmussen's 15 points place him at 408 on the year, firmly in second place all-time in school history for a freshman and 24 away from tying the all-time mark.

    • Rasmussen is now only the second freshman in school history to hit the 400 point threshold in his first collegiate season.

MOSCOW, Idaho - Ā In front of the largest home crowd in nearly two years, the Idaho men's basketball team could not overcome an 11-point second half deficit during its Senior Day contest to Northern Colorado, 76-67.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The energy from the 2,459 inside ICCU Arena energized the Vandals to a quick 7-2 start over the first two minutes of play. UNC got back in it with a 10-5 run to level the score at 12. The lead changed hands four times during the next six minutes, before Idaho took control to finish the half on a 20-13 run, to push the Vandals; lead to seven at the break. In the middle of the scoring streak, Seth Joba connected on a deep three, UI's 309th of the season, to set a new school record.Ā
Ā

Idaho was able to score with will over the first 2:30 of the second frame, as the Black and Gold secured their first double-digit lead of the afternoon when senior Isaiah Brickner splashed a stepback triple to bring Moscow to its feet.Ā
Ā

The Bears responded fast, going on a 13-1 run of their own to wipe away Idaho's advantage in just over three minutes. Joba found his second triple as the shot clock expired at the 11:51 mark to even the score at 51, before Biko Johnson finished a tough layup in traffic to wrestle the lead back for the Vandals. The visitors rattled off 13 of the game's next 15 points to sway the momentum, and the score, in their favor with six minutes to play. Alex Pribble's men would not go quietly though, scoring back to back buckets to pull back within two possessions.Ā

The double-digit deficit would be too much to overcome though, as UNC would outscore Idaho 10-6 in the final 3:44 to seal the result.Ā

UP NEXTĀ
