BANDON, Ore. - The University of Idaho men's golf team finished 11th Tuesday at the 17th Bandon Dunes Championship, posting a three-round total of 873 (+21) on Pacific Dunes at the Bandon Dunes resort on the Pacific coast, hosted by the Vandals.
Idaho opened the tournament with a strong two-over-par 286 but slipped slightly over the final two rounds with scores of 295 and 292 to finish 21 over par in the 15-team field.

Josh McCartain led Idaho, tying for 13th place at two-under-par 211. McCartain carded back-to-back rounds of 69 to open the event before closing with a 73 in the final round.
Dalton Dean provided Idaho's second-best finish, tying for 40th at five-over 218. Dean shot rounds of 73, 74 and an even-par 71 on Tuesday.
Charley Simpson and Samuel Johnson both tied for 71st at 12-over 225. Simpson posted rounds of 73, 76 and 76, while Johnson finished with scores of 76, 77 and 72.
Henrik Koglin rounded out the Vandals lineup, tying for 77th at 13-over 226 after rounds of 71, 76 and 79.
Joe Sykes, playing as an individual, finished tied for 48th with a score of six-over 219.
Oregon State, led by former Idaho coach Jon Reehoorn, captured the team title at 31-under-par 821, breaking the previous record of 28-under set by Oregon in 2017 and matched by Arizona State in 2018. The Beavers' 21-under first round bested the tournament round record by eight strokes. Oregon claimed runner-up honors second at 14-under for the tournament. OSU
Oregon State's Nguyen Anh Minh posted a first-round 61, setting the course, school and tournament record. He went three-under over the final two rounds to tie the tournament record at 13-under.
The Vandals are back in action on March 23-24 at the Oregon Duck Invitational at the Eugene Country Club.

The tournament returns to Old Macdonald course in 2027 for the first time since 2017. The tournament is schedule for March 7-9, 2027.
