Men's Golf Picked First, Women Fifth in Big Sky Preseason Polls

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Big Sky Conference released its 2026-27 men's and women's golf preseason coaches' polls, as Idaho's men were tabbed the league favorite while the women's team was picked to finish fifth.

Coach David Nuhn's team received five of seven first-place votes in the poll, edging out Northern Colorado and Utah Tech at the top. The Vandals enter the season fresh off the best finish in program history since winning the Big Sky title outright in 2016, closing last season as the conference runner-up at The Big Sky Conference Championship. Idaho was also named the Big Sky's Academic Champion in men's golf for the second time in three years, posting a 3.77 team GPA.

On the women's side, Coach Julia Goodson leads the women that were picked fifth in a poll topped by Northern Arizona, which collected 8 of 11 first-place votes. The Vandals are looking to build after finishing sixth at last year's Big Sky Championship. Idaho received a boost late in the spring when it was recognized with a Big Sky Player of the Week honor.
