MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Men's Tennis team took on the state of Montana for their spring break weekend, dropping both matches.
Vs. Montana
This week's spring break weekend showdown was a battle with Montana. This was the Vandals' second contest against Montana this season, with the last being just two weeks ago.
In the doubles duels, Montana demonstrated strong duo play, taking the match on three 6-1. On court one, the Vandals fought diligently but met a similar fate to their mirrored court 6-3.
The Vandals didn't allow the early point to give the Grizz momentum as both teams exchanged blows. The boys in black and gold took matches on courts one, four, and five to move the score to 3-3.
Despite Idaho's valiant efforts to overcome the strong and rowdy Montana team, the Brave and Bold dropped the match 3-4.
Vs. Montana State
Saturday's match honored Idaho Senior, Chetanna Amadike, as well as staff members, Assistant Coaches
Tomas Villamil and
Jesse Lemon, Strength and Conditioning Coach Walker Camp, and Athletic Trainer Kassi Johnson.
UI's matchup with the Bobcats, the Vandals started things off on the right foot as they secured the doubles point.
Sander Paradis and
Mikolaj Lis took a win on court one, 6-3. On Court two,
Chetanna Amadike and
Gabriel Moroder closed the doubles point doors with their 6-3 victory.
As the match pressed on, Idaho battled with Montana State down to the wire as the score sat 3-3. All eyes were on the remaining match on court six. As the dust settled, the Vandals met the same fate falling 3-4 to the Montana State Bobcats.
This concluded the final home match of the 2025-26 season for the Vandals.
UP NEXT: Idaho will shift back into gear, Sunday, April 5, at 10 a.m., taking on Portland State and Portland the following day at 12 p.m.
