BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals Women's Basketball team (26-5, 17-1) now knows its opposition for its second-round matchup in Starch Madness, and it will be taking on the No. 9 Weber State Wildcats (11-21, 4-14). 

The game will tip off at 11 a.m. PT. Tracy Warren and Krista Redpath will have the call on ESPN+, while Doug Taylor, the Voice of the Vandals, can be heard over the airwaves on the Vandal Athletics Radio Network.
 
This is the 60th meeting in series history against the Wildcats, and the first time the two teams have met in the conference tournament since the 2015-16 season, when the Vandals won 86-83 in Reno.  
 
Idaho enters the game at the No. 1 seed in the Big Sky tournament and the outright regular-season conference champion. The Vandals also cleaned up the Big Sky Conference regular-season awards. Head Coach Arhtur Moreira was the unanimous Coach of the Year, Kyra Gardner was selected as unanimous Newcomer of the Year, Debora Dos Santos was tabbed as the Top Reserve in the Big Sky, as well. In addition, Gardner and Hope Hassmann were named First Team All-Conference, Dos Santos was selected to Second Team All-Conference, and Ana Pinheiro was named to the conference's All-Defense team. 
 
The Vandals have been one of the best rebounding teams in the entire nation this season, and have led the Big Sky on the glass all year. Idaho finished the regular season ranked in the top 15 nationally in every major rebounding statistic and led the conference on the glass all year. 
 
Idaho also boasts the top scoring offense in the conference this season. At 78.6 points per game, the Vandals led the Big Sky in scoring, and rank 21st in the country. 
   
IDAHO NOTES 
  • The Vandals have made 210 three-pointers this season and have made a three ball in 572 consecutive games.
  • With Arthur Moreira at the helm, Idaho has the first Brazilian head coach in Division I history. The Vandals also have the most Brazilians on roster of any team in Division I with three.
  • With 44 career wins, Coach Moreira has surpassed Hall of Famer Tara VanDerveer for fifth-most wins in Idaho history. 
  • With a career win percentage of .721, Moreira ranks third in Idaho history behind Pat Dobratz (.784) and VanDerveer (.750).
  • Idaho has one of the youngest coaching staffs in Division I, with an average age of 32.
  • Debora Dos Santos just surpassed the 1,000-career point plateau, while Hope Hassmann surpassed the milestone at Weber State this season.
